I don't think create a "new" template is easy for a newbie. I will suggest use "grey" template to modify. It will be eaisier for you to add your own background or images.

The grey template is under /templates/grey ...

how can I move everything to one side? since the grey skin, got 2 side

mmm ... then, I will suggest you choose a 2-column template, and modify your own base on it.

If you want to try to modify grey, you can follow the following steps:
1. the left sidebar is in header.template and right sidebar is in footer.template
2. Move all blocks from footer.template  to header.template. Remember, you must leave the "real footer" in footer.template
3. remove the css(/templates/grey/stype.css) and right-sidebar setting that apply to footer ... to make the template only 2-column ..

It is not easy, but you can try ...
